The voices in my head said go to Skizofrenia!

Skizofrenia never fails to entertain.

What do you do on Friday nights? Well by the time Grandma and Grandpa are sawing major wood the freaks are barely coming out of the woodwork. That’s right SINNERs. The freaks do come out at night.

Skizofrenia the weekly industrial goth party has taken over the Harmon Theater outside of Planet Hollywood.

In a town, where good goth parties are hard to find and usually don’t last more than a few months. Skizofrenia has a real chance to make a lasting impression on Vegas and if they can keep up the energy I witnessed last night, it will be here to stay.

With a combination of good music, drink specials, a great venue on the Strip, Skizofrenia’s crowds have been increasing with each passing week. Doors open at 11 and entry is free before midnight. FYI, the party rages ’til 4 but the valet shuts down at 3.

Last Friday, Adam from Godflesh performed a suspension by hooks in his knees. He pierced his knees onstage before hoisting himself 5 feet in the air. You read that correctly SINNERs. He hoisted himself up into the air. That was probably the gnarliest part of a gnarly-ass show.

SINNER friend, Kelvita the Blade from SwingShiftSideShow and FREAKS did an unscheduled 3 point suspension directly after Adam. She had 2 hooks inserted in her abdomen and 1 in her chest.

I’ve witnessed Kel perform a few suspensions but this was a night of firsts for her: a first with this configuration of hooks and a first without her usual preparations.

Those preparations include cleansing her body and boosting her immune system to aid in healing afterwords. But since FREAKS was cancelled 7 weeks ago she was itching to perform.

Chris Twist, the contortionist from Freaks, was also in attendance, coincidentally, and I could tell that he had that same itch. Unfortunately, he couldn’t scratch it like Kelvita could.

The performance accomplished what it intended; bringing in a sizeable crowd and showing them just what goes on at the Harmon Theater on Friday nights.

The drink specials don’t hurt either. They have two concoctions for $3. The vodka based Nightmare or the rum infused Zombie. Both are yummy and get the job done right.

In addition to the $3 drinks, there are also $4 wells and drafts. And this week 1/29 is the debut of the Skizo Absinthe Bar, just in case things aren’t freaky enough for you.

The DJ’s holding the party down this past Friday were Resident DJ Rustryu, DJ Dr. White and DJ Grenadier spinning the most eclectic mix of music found in any club up-and-down the Strip.

They play everything from KMFDM to Mindless Self Indulgence to the Sex Pistols to Lords of Acid. And they love taking requests so get your list together before you get there. If it rocks and they have it, they’ll most likely play it.

So get your fetish wear, your slave collar and your leather pants out and on. And get down to Harmon Theater this Friday for Skizofrenia. I’ll see you SINNERs there! Check them out online at darklv.com.

I totally disagree with you. First this is not a Goth Club…they don’t have a clue what a Goth Club is. They actually thought there was a Goth Top 20 list. lol God Bless them…This is also the same club for the last year that has blackballed all of the other DJ’s if they played elsewhere…they just now realized that’s not a good thing. The promoters themselves..although nice people…are clueless about what they are doing. The club gives them more direction. People that come from out of town are usually displeased at what they hear. You are right about one thing…it is the only place for now…Ghost Machine is the Venue of choice on Saturdays. Carpe Noctem is another good choice worth checking out.
